Dad is now (finally) a Retired Elder

Dad (Dr. John Henderson) was recognized as a retired elder at the TN Dist Assembly Thurdsay night. Here is a picture of him and mom with his children, grandchildren, and great grand children ... Minus his two sons and my son all of whom could not attend because of military duty. Just noticed, baby sis and her 7ft hubby is missing, they were there but not in th pic. Guess which daughter belongs to baby sis.

Of course the tall gal on the left. Have sometimes wondered what that might be like (nice, I'll bet!), especially when needing something high up at tbe store, & end up asking some taller-than-me stranger for help.

I can always depend on my favorite daughter to get good pics.
Of course (yeah, another one), we now know you have only one. Can't have a "favorite" when there's more than one.

Of course (have to be consistent ), your favorite daughter is the one standing by her cuz who does not have to ask anyone for help to reach anything . . . tho' it appears like favorite daughter just might have the same problem I do with high shelves.

Nice pic of the gals ... sure highlights the contrast, for sure.

4"8" vs 6'4" (who slouches to try to hide her height and only admits to 6'2)

Wow! Your daughter has even less height than do I. Wondered what their heights were, seeing them together.

I read a narrative of my dad's experience last night through his lens. The narrative was in report style. Part of what he wrote won't be appreciated here so I won't post it. I do think his conclusion might offer hope to all except the most obstinate:

"One thing I brought home was a new awareness that our Nazarenes need my prayers. Pastors, lay leaders, retirees, elected leaders, emergents, fundamentalists, and so on. They all have one thing in common. They are people who need someone to intercede for them."
Thanks Gina Stevenson - "thanks" for this post

As am I. Just felt like stating the obvious (since not everyone sees it).

Blessings to him. We are at opposite ends of our pastoral journey. I hope to be as faithful to the ministry as he appears to have been.
