    Words create

I just read this interesting post by Kester Brewin on the colour blue. Very interesting that we really didn't seem to "see" the colour until the word was coined. Also, it is last colour word to be coined in any language. This seems to have implications for language as bringing into existence, rather than just describing what is there. I kind of see God's speaking creation into existence and Jesus as the Word who is the creator, who brings all things into existence.

Are there theological implications in the findings discussed in the post?

    Re: Words create

If I thought on it a bit longer, may come up with more than the following. But, anyway, aside from words creating, and the "meaning(?)" ~~ since meaning of this seemingly simple word can even vary, too ~~ of the word blue, the contrast of the word regarding mood in English and Portuguese serves to highlight how we can talk right past each other here, due to such differences in our individual understandings of what words mean.

Below is just one comment on this short article, responding to our English understanding of "blue" as the mood of someone feeling badly ... or down (but then "down" may even be misunderstood by some other language, wherein someone may not be tho't of as feeling badly when down, but perhaps "relaxed" instead, since one might be lying "down" when feeling good/relaxed):

“…why are the ‘blues’ called the blues?” In Portuguese, if someone says everything (this) is blue, they are saying everything is good and happy.
