    Happy Independence Day

Wishing all my American friends a happy celebration of their independence, and may it result into an ever greater dependence upon our Heavenly Father. And may we all find freedom in being slaves of Christ.

Thank you, Hans, for referring to the holiday by its name rather than by its date!

Reminded me again how we (Danny & I) said this was the day we gave up our independence for interdependence. Yeah, I know I have said it before on this date.

My church's office manager is from Liverpool - has lived here for years, but still has a marked English accent. As I was leaving the other day I wished her a 'happy 4th' and then added, "as much of one as a Brit can have." She laughed and said, "Love it! Besides it's a day off."

Little is said in History books about the fact that within a short time after the Declaration of Independence was signed there was also a document entitled Declaration of Dependence on God signed by most of the same group of founding fathers.
