    iGoogle

Google has announced that the iGoogle homepage will be discontinued, both for mobile (July 31) and for the PC (Next year). This is one of the tabs on my home page screen, both on the PC and the iPad. I lean on it pretty heavy for the headlines on a number of news and sports websites (local and national), and click on the stories I want to see. What are the alternatives that I can use to replace iGoogle?
    Godspeed!

Good question Mark, I share it.

    It has been useful.

Igoogle is a unique product in that it is a mixture of RSS reader and gadget display. There is not anything really comparable, but by Nov 2013 I am sure there will be.

Perhaps they feel there is a way to get Google+ to function in the same way? Perhaps someone would know if the average user spent more than a few seconds there each day?

Check out www.protopage.com . This might be a good source.

Also www.netvibes.com - I think I like it better than Protopage.

    Re: iGoogle

Does look like I am moving to netvibes.

My over-all take is that netvibes handle RSS feeds much better, but the current avalible widgets are not as nice as igoogle.

As people migrate from igoogle I hope they improve the widgets (particularly face book and weather).

Face book actually will not work unless you allow netvibes to post on your wall.
