Rikki, 9 hours ago (sorry for the delay folks, but I sleep at night)
"He will be moving down to the transplant unit this afternoon.
Talked to the Dr, his liver markers are looking a little worse so they did an ultrasound which looks great, not sure of the cause, pray the new liver continues to work. He is allowed to have jello and juice and we are waiting for a bed on the transplant unit so he can be transferred."

Well, it is officially me. I will be having a routine biopsy in an hour or so. Look for a later update probably double posted on here and FB.
Prayer list: Obvious positive report from Biopsy.
pray for my family as they have hugely stepped up to help Rikki and I.
Please pray for the 47 year old man found in a non vital position. He had a large healthy liver and it fits in my body. I was not sick enough to get this transplant but the doctor made a call that I was the best for this liver. At the end of the i was second in line but the guy in first could not stop drinking to potentially save his. Pray that this will wake him up as much as possible that their is live without drink if we have hope in things outside the world. I am truly thank for what I am calling a miracle.

I received call from Stew two days ago and was, sadly, asleep on the couch with the phone on silent. He left me a voicemail, and I can tell you that all the words of encouragement, prayer, and support mean the world to Stew and Rikki right now. This is what NazNet is all about.

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.

Unless something unexpected happens, I think this is a good time to conclude these postings. Which doesn't mean Steve couldn't use your prayers anymore, but the urgency of the situation has thankfully diminished. Thank you for praying!

The past 20 years have certainly seen advancements! So glad that Steve is doing well and able to recover at home. When my brother had his liver transplant, they had to travel 4 hours to Dallas for it and then had to stay in an apartment there for quite a while (3 months or so, I think) during his recovery. Steve's progress is nothing short of amazing to me!

(Some, I see, still have trouble with the 'preaching/gone to meddling' boundary.)
Had a short phone conversation with Steve this morning. He seemed to be doing well. Said he was still dealing with some pain issues, but that the transplant appeared to be holding. I'm sure he would appreciate your prayers.

Yes, I did the same thing last year.
Not long before my surgery, I was in pain on a Friday afternoon and fearful for what the weekend would bring so I called my doctor's office and was prescribed a drug. I don't remember what it was but I hope to never encounter it again. I took it and then went to work but after a while realized I was useless there and needed to go home. It took all the strength I had to make the two-mile drive on empty rural roads. The entire time I was trying to keep my wits about me. Hang on. Hang on. Don't let go. Gather that one in. And that one! Hang on!! What a huge relief it was to reach my house, settle on the couch in the living room, and finally let go of my wits entirely and sink into a stupor.
The Lortabs I took after my surgery didn't have nearly that impact on my ability to keep my wits about me, but, even when I didn't take them, I was still reluctant to undertake anything that required sustained focus. It was so much nicer to just drift along, taking some time off of life. It's nice to have time to focus on nothing but recovering and working one's way back to big tasks such as retrieving one's spoon from the other side of the serving tray.

I have been following this. Take care Steve.
“Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart” (Eph. 6:5-6).
