Hey you car buffs and you TV/movie buffs and especially you are both..

I visited the Volo Automobile Museum today. They are best known for their 50s and 60s classics and their TV/Movie cars (though they have many others, too).

Unlike a lot of museums, many of these cars are for sale...

(For those of you who want to seet it in person, Volo is a Chicago suburb.)

Here's the first few samples (PROBABLY more coming soon):

That charger is a disgrace to Mopar. From all the info I have gathered on it. it doesn't even have a Mopar motor and blow is fake.

    Behold, the cult of Mopar.

One of the Fast and Furious cars is on display in the Hinsdale Oasis on I 294. I saw it on Saturday next to the Starbucks kiosk, which was an interesting juxtaposition.

Reminds me of the Henry Food Museum in Detroit.

Near me we have a similar museum as well. If you are ever out this way Wilson, you can check it out.

The difference being that mere mortals outside of the car world have heard of Ford and Chevy. By contrast, those mortals would likely hear the word 'Mopar' and think that you're talking about improving your golf game.

I've heard of people putting a Chevy engine in a Ford and vice versa, but never a mopar engine in anything else.

Ah I have heard that is was pretty common practice for a hemi to be found in old ford roadsters when they have been customized. Well let me inform the uninformed then Mopar means motor parts of Chrysler, Dodge, and Plymouth. It has become a word that is interchangeable for those three companies as well as Jeep after buying American Motor Company or AMC. We are more of a cult but that is mainly due to the rejection of these cars as being worthy being classed next to chevy or ford. Even though throughout our history we have shown over and over again our ability to compete with these two power houses. You can try and find us but we are much harder to find at car shows and auctions. We tend to stick to ourselves because we have been pushed there.
