In another thread, Hans asked that I send him the pictures from his 2001 trip to the U.S. Following the 2001 General Assembly, Hans and Hannie traveled with Linda and me from Indianapolis to Gig Harbor, WA. Here is a link to some of the pictures. We had a great time.

And btw, we learned something on the journey as well. Whenever Linda had one of her children on the phone, she always closed with a "Love you!" At the time, we weren't used to that but we've come to realise that it is really important to express your love. That was a very good lesson.

Perhaps not that many people will remember the story behind the box that was given to Dave and Linda at the end of the 2001 GA. It was a box of chocolates but it had been all over the world to various NazNetters who added something related to their place or country, and it was meant to be a gift on behalf of NazNet. I think Belinda Edwards had come up with the idea. Anyway, by the time the box came back to the USA the chocolates had turned somewhat white, but it made it in time to present it to Dave & Linda.

Hans, the box had more than just chocolates. It traveled all over the world. At each stop, something with a local connection was added. You are right that the original chocolates spoiled, but there were a lot of other items in the box. I still have some of them. It was a neat idea. Linda and I really appreciated the kind thoughts that were reflected by the contents of the box.
In browsing back through my photo albums, I see that the album I posted wasn't complete. I have some other photos that include Hans and Hannie. I will post a revised album when I am confident I have all of them.
I second the motion to have General Assembly in Yellowstone National Park. Seems like an appropriate setting!
Photos are awesome. The photos of people in front of the OLD Headquarters should be submitted to Nazarene Archives for posterity.
