Exclamation Too much wrong food and drink!

WHEN looking at this data, be sure and view all the maps for the various years. It's shocking to see how far the U.S. has gone in terms of the number of states that are now full of obesity. This data should be an alert that we need a radical paradigm shift in the way we view food and nutrition.

We have the most information available in terms of what the body needs to function properly; yet, we have the highest obesity ever recorded. There's a disconnect that needs to be rectified!

How is your state ranked in this data? Convicting, eh?

    Yours for health and wellness,

Probably has as much to do with lack of exericise as wrong kinds of foods.

EXERCISE plays a significant role in our health and well-being; however, I feel that in the study above, the kind of foods that people are eating plays a greater one. When viewing the maps, year by year, I have to recognize that more and more "food-like edible substances" have been added to the grocery shelves, with over 14,000 man-made chemicals infused into them. These toxic chemicals have a cumulative negative affect on our bodies in myriad ways -- too many to enumerate here. "Google" will reveal more than you can even read. Also, the ever-growing proliferation of fast food restaurants is probably a large contributor.

We used hybrid seed; GMO seed; poisonous fungicides and insecticides, etc., etc., etc., on these crops and we are walking chemistry labs. Also, grain crops aren't "shocked" any more, due to the time it takes, thus contributing to "allergic" reactions in a large part of the populace. Just yesterday, I ate a small pear that I picked from a neighbor's tree, and within a couple of minutes, my mouth was burning and soon a somewhat nauseous feeling appeared, and it was verified that strong toxic chemicals had been sprayed. Although those pears appeared perfect, they were far from such. Washing first would have helped a bit, but those chemicals were infused into the fruit. First I had eaten from the apple tree, in another part of the property, that bore delicious tasting fruit, although not appearing "perfect." It had not been sprayed, and the taste and effect of the fruit were good.

And then we come to choices. People often don't take the time to learn what the body needs to function properly and then feed it what it requires for such. We do far better with our cars and equipment than with the bodies God gave us. The dramatic and almost unbelievable rise in just diabetes alone in the U.S. should be alarm enough for everyone (including ALL those in the food chain) to make some changes. Hope springs eternal, I guess.

When viewing the full carts of groceries that people typically purchase, most times there is very little nutrition and a whole lot of detrimental things in those carts. If people only knew what they were doing to their bodies!

For the most part, our bodies have not adapted to our abundance: we are killing ourselves with abundance, especially in the wrong "foods." Have you ever had a good meal in France? They do not serve the large portions that are served in the U.S. and the people take time to dine instead of the "rush, rush, hurry the line, turn the tables" approach used in this country.

We should find out what we are really eating and retune our palates, because our palates are corrupted! We fall into a sugar trap through personal rewards and excuses, but what we need to do is reprogram, reset our brains.

Replacing grains with greens, eating foods high in aromas, eliminating sugars and sugar imposters, and eating smaller bites and smaller portions are all vital to taking control of our health. Eating adequate good fiber will leave us feeling full without the caloric penalty. These are but a few changes that can be made, and a challenge for us all to improve our ways of eating and viewing food. Somehow, we must for the sake of ourselves and our posterity, but it begins with the individual.

It is exciting that we now have many good options available to most people, and it behooves us to eat for health so that we can do life well.

Wishing you good health and wellness,

Is there any data that shows a corresponding decrease in life-expectancy in the US? Do obese people have short life-expectancy? For some reason I've believed that life expectancy was increasing. Wouldn't life expectancy rates be dramatically declining if foods were as dangerous as stated?

Enjoying the organic food diet here in Costa Rica!

    Friend,

It seems to me that the old adage "If it ain't fried, it ain't Southern cooking" might hold as far as regionality. Does the oppressive heat and humidity there make for less exercise on the part of the inhabitants.
