Robin leads a small group of young adults at my church. This group started for a relatively narrow demographic: Some kids who aged out of our teen group whose parents weren't part of our church, who didn't head off to college, and who struggle finding and keeping good jobs. The 20 to 25 year-old group members take turns picking a fast food place to meet, eat, fellowship, pray, and have a short Bible study. Yesterday afternoon, group member Patrick told her that he couldn't make it because his family was moving and he had to help. Without batting an eye or giving it a second thought, Robin contacted the rest of the group, told them to dress for outdoor heat, and come early for a FAST dinner after which they'd all head out for a special project. The group then went and helped with the move. (Being like Jesus rather than talking about Jesus.) Based on the situation upon our arrival (lack of preparation, lack of manpower, lack of organizational skills), I honestly don't know how the family would have pulled this off without the group's help.
