Hmmm ... sort of like informing someone they have that "right" a bit late ... or something, you mean?

Yesterday we received a letter addressed to Linda's dad, starting out, "We hope this letter does not cause you any discomfort, but it has come to our attention that your wife may have died." That is true: she has died. She died a couple years after he died. I hope they have the thoughtfulness to let her know of his death.

Coming to this thread again, it reminded me of how a "nice" person from SocSvcs ("services" I would use very loosely, as it was indeed a disservice when they ...) came to the door asking for Danny and, when told he had died, informed me that my husband was not dead! What a mess, when it's fresh ... I slammed the door (they actually tho't I was going to let them in after their saying that!), bawled, called someone (who, I later learned, called that dept & chewed them out for doing that to me (thank U, friend) ....
This idiot had the name of some TV character he apparently tho't he could be like (forget which now) ... came running over there, overlooking they had been sent a death certificate, etc, hoping to find ... ?? Would say they needed retiring from that job, having apparently become suspicious of anyone & everyone! Lord help us!

My point was the ironic humor of the place called "Right to Life" sending it to someone who is deceased. I oftentimes have a bit of irreverent sense of humor. The letter was addressed to my wife's dad, and when I told her whom it was from, even my wife laughed. I honestly thought it was funny.
