    Zip Line!

The good news is that a 210' zip line has been installed in a park I've been working on for 5 years. I call it my "Jesus Park" and the primary purpose of the 3/4 acre park is to host 4,5,6 graders on some Friday night overnighters. The drop is good, but not life endangering. My eight year old granddaughter took the first formal ride. In fact, she had about 5 rides before anyone else. Our son, Josh, took 3 rides. I put a bungee brake on it, so the rider doesn't propel into the tree. Fun, fun, fun!!! Will try to post some pics soon.

    Friend,

    Wes

May I come test it? If it will hold me, it will be safe for the 6th graders.

Of course! Pretty sure that Josh is heavier than you!

Have family coming in for this coming week...two brothers and their wives. [Did I say that right? They each only have one wife.] Anyway, we'll see if we can get them to try out the new toy.

Dave, you and Linda either need to come for a visit on purpose, or, stop by. You know we are only 2 miles off the freeway.

    Friend,

    Wes

Wes, while you are at PALCON you should make a side trip up to the Intermountain District Camp at Cascade and take a ride on their zip line.

Jim, I think our state's best zip lines are located near Horseshoe Bend. Wes, that is less then an hour's drive from Nampa. This is on my "things to do this summer" list.

Jim there are several in the area. Here is the Horseshoe Bend zip line link.

There was on at the Tamarack Resort. I believe Pres GW Bush took a ride when he was there to do some mountain biking a few years ago. However, I don't believe it is in operation since the resort went bankrupt.

There was a company that wanted to build a 90 mph zip line near Twin Falls. The plan wasn't approved and they are currently in the appeal process.

Bottom line, Nampa's closest and best zip line is at Horseshoe Bend.

    Re: Zip Line!

I've been advocating installing zip lines as a secondary fire escape for a leased housing unit where a bunch of my soldiers stay. The soldiers are all for it, but for some reason the idea isn't gaining any traction with the people who approve the funds.
