    Electrict Bills

One of the great things about living in the northwest is cheap electricity. Most of our power comes from hydro electric dams. I just got my bill for the past month -- $128. For a house this size, that is remarkable. When we lived in Houston, it wasn't unusual for the August bill to be $800!!

Yeah, with no A/C (Which I would have been tempted to use lately) and a almost entirely gas house our electric bill is pretty negligible, especially in summer.

    Re: Electrict Bills

Our house here generally runs about $100 in the summer, this is the first house we have owned in twenty years without central a/c. In winter the bill rises to $240 or so since we have electric heat, electric hot water and dryer.

The house in Maine costs us about $9 per month when we aren't there. The bill goes way up to $17 or $18 when we are there, we are out most of the time so there is little electric use. The power up there comes primarily from a wind farm about 30 miles south of us. There is another wind farm in the permitting process another 20 or so miles south. They have been working on the permits for about three years now, hopefully it will be built in a couple of years.

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.

Dave and Craig, back in the 60s when I lived in Moses Lake and Connell we would get are Public Utility District bill every other month for about $7. because they didn't think we would want to bother paying a montly bill of about $3.50.

Since we moved up the hill a few years ago, ours has been much better. In Loma Linda with a 2 story house it would frequently be $225+ (and we didn't run the AC all the time). In Beaumont (about 1600 ft higher, it's never been over $105-110. I don't turn on the AC 'til it's about 80 and set it for about 77. The house is well insulated and the AC will start kicking off in about an hour. Always turn off at night and generally sleep under a light blanket. We get a nice breeze just about every evening, although we've been having monsoon type stuff the last week or so.

Our house is entirely electric, is in Arkansas, and is not shaded at all. Our electric bill is between $189 and $212 every month. We have "level" billing that spreads the peak costs onto the low-usage months and evens out our bills.

Our house is completely electric. Our bills are highest in the summer - usually around $180. In late fall and spring they run about $100.
