Question DirecTV vs. DISH Nework ?

Before I got sick I used DISH Network and spent about $70/month. I'm on a pretty tight budget and I'm wondering if I can get a better deal. The local cable provider provides poor service so my choice is between the two satellite providers. Thanks for any information.

We were paying something like $30 for pretty basic stuff on DirecTV before we moved up here.

I have Dish and like the service. Dish is less expensive then direct tv for what I use. You might have to reduce the number of receivers and programming to reduce the cost. I have HD with a dual tuner HD dvr receiver hooked to 2 tv's and I pay less then $70.00 a month. Also you have the new subscriber deals with a 2 year commitment that could reduce your cost for a period of time. I don't know how long you have been away from Dish so I don't know if you can get a new subscriber deal with Dish. You can go to their sights and enter what you want to see the end pricing.

Ask for the "Essential Services" package from DishNetwork, at least that's what it was called when I threatened to cancel my service a couple years ago. It's $22.44/month, which includes local channels and the two channels I care about, History Channel and Discovery Channel. It's not advertised.

As far as I know DishNetwork is the most affordable option.

We have Dish Network. AAA is offering a discount to members for a year with DirectTV. It would save quite a bit. It gripes me that Dish offers such low rates for new members, but not old members.
