Printer won't print black

I have an HP Officejet 6500 wireless printer.

I am trying to print in black.

I have a new black cartridge.

I have new color cartridges.

I have cleaned the printhead

I have aligned the printheads.

What in the world could be wrong with it?

It prints everything but black.

any ideas?

Yes. If under warranty, turn it in. If not, buy a new printer. Printers can drive you nuts.

NEVERMIND.

I got it to work.

I amaze myself sometimes....ha ha ha

Well, I cleaned the print heads, and when I was finishing, I noticed a box that popped up that stated, in essence, cleaning #2 will use more ink, but if #1 did not work, try cleaning a second time......so I cleaned the print heads a second time, and viola!!! it now works.

I guess cleaning the print heads once in a while is an important thing......must be.
