Exclamation Rattlesnakes! Not for the faint of heart!

If you have a spare afternoon, you might want to try this. I have no connectional interest, but found it to be interesting. Possibly rough language: I was watching and not paying attention to how they were talking.

I know parts of West Virginia where they could start a whole denomination with just this day's hunt!

No thank you! It's ten minutes, nearly. Two-&-a-half was all I could take of it!

(no nightmares, please, Lord! Thank you!)

Right. Then what ever you do, don't look at the end of it.

Re: Rattlesnakes! Not for the faint of heart!

I noticed the terrain looks a lot like Southern Idaho, so I looked up Soar No More and found they are located only three miles from my house. Based on the video, I think they were in BLM land south of here in Owyhee County.

When I worked on the grounds crew at NNC, one of my coworkers would catch rattle snakes and throw them into his box freezer at home. When rattle snakes freeze they curl up into a strike position and stay that way after they are dead. His favorite practical joke was to place the frozen snakes in the passenger seat, car trunk or ice chest then bait them into discovering an "angry snake" when they went to get a soda or tool.

I've attached a photo of a snake my son saw when he went hiking in Owyhee County's Jump Creek this past spring.

Dennis, are you planning to plant the "Rattlesnake Church of the Nazarene"? BTW: I visited with Millie Noftle today (annversary of John's home going coming up) and she spoke very highly of you. She loves your preaching. She remembered a "wonderful sermon you gave." Would you be available to schedule revival services in Keene for October 2013? I am thinking about an old fashioned seven day revival starting on a Sunday and ending on a Sunday. What do you think?

Don't want to watch, yet might imagine worse than what might be there! Does someone get bitten before it's over? Seemed the one guy in the beginning was getting rather careless . . . .

No one is bitten, and no snakes are killed or injured. They are all released unharmed.

On a related note ... I learned during last month"s vacation that Albuquerque has the "American International Rattlesnake Museum". Really kitschy. Of course I have the T- shirt!

In 1959 I worked in the apple orchards along the Columbia River in Washington state propping apple trees after they had been thinned and killed three of them but the fourth one put fang holes in the crease of my khaki work pants but did not get me.

What I found most alarming was that 35 of those Rattlers were found in such a relatively small area (and about 20 or so got away) it was a veritable "snake pit".

I'll give that area a wide berth when I visit the States.
