I, too, have let some of those things go. It is true that I sometimes need to use the fingers on one hand to pry those foods from the fingers on my other hand. I thrive in the recollection of Billy Graham's words, "If, when we get to heaven, those things are important to us, they'll be there." Actually, he was talking about golf, which has absolutely no appeal to me here - I guess things could change once I get there.
So, where do you buy your birdseed?

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.

I am now in the process of re-reading some of my FAV books and began this one a few weeks ago. Dr James Dobson makes some startling and refreshing statements about God's faithfulness, the primary being HE can be trusted.
I LOVE this book, for it, again, is helping this OLD geezer.
If you are going through a difficult time or know someone who is, I highly recommend this book.

Nelson, this thread reminds me of some of the incredibly fine people that our denomination should be proud to have produced! Dr. Dobson is surely one we can be very proud of. I'm also reminded of Bill, Danny and Gloria Gaither, what an incredible witness to the world and what wonderful theology is represented in their songs which are sung the world over! Some of the most influential voices for our Lord in our lifetime have been Nazarenes.
Isn't God good?
Oh and I almost forgot. I really do purchase my rabbit food at Subway, I've been a faithful daily customer there since my last heart attack 14 years ago. They come highly recommended.

I could not agree more, Jim. I personally believe that if Jesus tarries, 100 years from now Gloria Gaither will be known as one of the greatest hymn lyricist of all times. She already ranks up there with me.

I must confess that I used to be annoyed by the length of her "stories" as I saw them as an interruption from the music. But I've gained a new appreciation of her perspective and prose. I've gone back and listened to and read many of the stories and introductions to songs that she has written. I've mentioned a few times here that I consider her to be the greatest theologian that we have produced, Gloria has a unique gift of taking our thoughts about God to a meaningful, understandable and unforgettable level. What a blessing their family has been!
And of course I must mention that my all time favorite singer was Danny, his voice spoke to the very soul.
