Another Free Stewardship Book

A little over a year ago, Dave started a thread about the book, "Not Your Parent's Offering Plate."

We Nazarene pastors got copies sent to us...

Today's mail included a package from the, "Wesleyan Investment Foundation"--the Wesleyan arm that took over the Nazarene's General Church Loan Fund.

Anyways the mailing was a free book by Stan Toler called, "Give to Live: the freedom of being generous with your life." (published by Wesleyan Publishing House, copyright 2012) It is 13 chapters and includes small group study guides.

Did all the pastors get one? (Or, did I get one because my church has a loan with them right now?)

Anybody read it yet?

We got one earlier this week.

It showed up in the mail on Monday. My secretary actually threw out the package assuming that it was just the bulletin inserts again. I pulled it out just to check and so I now have the book in my office. I'll get around to reading it sometime down the road (if for no other reason than Dr. Toler wrote it, and I'm enjoying his stuff at the moment).

I did receive receive Dr. Stan Toler's book this week because I got the mail before my secretary did. I love how secretaries protect their Pastors but I have emphasized that it is important to at least open the packages and look to see if we can use it. (Thanks Michael for sharing your experience.) I appreciate Dr. Stan Toler and will always remember what Rev. Paul Neal (The Legendary NPH Book Salesman) said at District Assembly when promoting a Stan Toler book, "Stan Toler never had a thought that he didn't write down!"
