    Today is 10/11/12

and maybe that's all I could say about it, eh?
But should any of you feel the need to add something significant, or even not significant, help yourself.

    All day?

To know and to serve God, of course, is why we're here, a clear truth, that, like the nose on your face, is near at hand and easily discernible but can make you dizzy if you try to focus on it hard. But a little faith will see you through.

On the other hand, our "little guy" was born on March 3, 2001, and I thought to myself that it would have been much easier for me to remember his birthday had he been born the day before!

    Re: Today is 10/11/12

My husband's age is the same as his (abbreviated) birth year today -- and for the year to come.

I missed 07:08:09. I was aiming for 10:11:12 10/11/12. I can still celebrate that one.

What is an appropriate celebration for such moments? A second of silence?

This year is our last chance to observe a moment such as 12:12:12 12/12/12. I think I have let the last 11 chances at such second-long events slip by unnoticed. I was sitting in Sunday School at 10:10:10 10/10/10 but got so caught up in the lesson, I forgot to stop to watch it go by.

I missed the one this morning. But you know it's coming around again in a few hours, right? Or are you on military time?

Paul's birthday is 12/12.....so I guess this year at 12 minutes and 12 seconds after 12 it will be 12:12:12 12/12/12....this is fun.

Nah, it doesn't count if it doesn't work on military time. (Which is kind of a "the grapes were probably sour anyway" response because I missed it again. I was out celebrating my husband's birthday.)

    Re: Today is 10/11/12

Because we live on the other side of the international date line to the US, today is 12/10/2012, and is in fact the 10th anniversery of the Bali Bombing. Our Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition are both in Bali today for the remembrance ceremonies.

An islamic terrorist group targetted a pub popular with Australians and many other foreign tourists in Bali back in 2002 and 202 people lost their lives including 88 Australians. Another 240 people were injured.

Jemaal Islamiyah was blamed for the attack which was supported by Al Queda.
In the end three of the terrorists were tried, convicted and executed by an Indonesian firing squad (Samudra, Amrozi and Hud), but the main master mind remains unconvicted. Many believe that Abu Bakar Bashir was behind the bombing but there was not enough proof for a definate conviction. Another person "Hambali", is also linked to the bombing but remains a person of interest for other terrorist acts and is "helping" US officials with their inquiries down in Guantanimo Bay. In the end I don't care where he is tried for his many crimes, but I would like to think that he could finish his life living in a cage in some inhospitible part of the world. Two possible locations come to mind: "Sturt's stoney Desert" in inland Australia or "Campbell Island" down in the Antartic Ocean. I'd hate him to be executed and to become a martyr.

Thank you for the info. I remember seeing a small clip about the bombing when it happened.

Is Campbell Island a part of New Zealand?

I'll have to look it up; but I picked it because of its proximity to the Antartic circle not so much whether we or the Kiwi's owned it.
