    The God of the Mountain

    The God of the Mountain

    Lynda Randle

Life is easy when you're up on the mountain
And you've got peace of mind like you've never known.
But then things change and you're down in the valley.
Don't lose faith for you're never alone.

For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley.
When things go wrong, He'll make it right.
And the God of the good times
Is still God in the bad times.
The God of the day is still God in the night.

You talk of faith when you're up on the mountain.
Oh but the talk comes easy when life's at its best.
But it's down in the valley of trials and temptation
That's when faith is really put to the test.

For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley.
When things go wrong, He'll make it right.
And the God of the good times
Is still God in the bad times.
The God of the day is still God in the night.

For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley.
When things go wrong, He'll make it right.
And the God of the good times
Is still God in the bad times.
The God of the day is still God in the night.
The God of the day is still God in the night.

Re: The God of the Mountain

We have had Lynda sing that several times at Olathe College Church (she lives in the Kansas City area).
Powerful song and a woman with a beautiful spirit and testimony.
(For any who are into Southern Gospel, the McKamey's have a great recording of it too. Ole Peg can hardly contain herself when she sings it!)

Trying to remember who I first heard this from long ago in Phoenix (seems there's a cassette around here w/that on it).

Lynda does a great job of it, too.
Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one.

It's funny you mention the McKameys. They've never been one of my favorites, but I've listened to this song repeatedly over the past few days:

It does seem that one of the great realities that even many long-time Christians struggle to comprehend is the fact that our sense and experience of "time" and God's relation to time are not the same. I am trying to do better here myself.
You might want to also listen to Karen Peck and New River's cover of Aaron Wilburn's song "Four Days Late". I even get blessed hearing Aaron sing it, and his voice isn't a whole lot better than mine!
