Our church does and I will ask to find out where they were obtained.
You don't need a robe if you sprinkle.![]()

Very true.
I will be sprinkling this evening. I am going to be baptizing a woman who is in the hospital and is expected to pass very soon. She was never baptized, but professed a faith in Christ and participated in the Eucharist earlier in the summer before she was hospitalized almost 3 months ago. She just started attending our church back in February.

My mum still has my Baptismal gown in which I was baptised and in which my childrern were also baptised. When my children have children of their own, they too will be baptised in this same gown which I will then keep. This has become a family tradition for us and hopefully will continue for a couple of more generations unless Jesus comes back first.
However, we as a church have no baptismal gowns (for infants) or baptismal robes (for adults) and are not likely to acquire any soon. Like the CotN my denomination baptises by sprinkling, pouring or immersion according to the preference of the candidate or their sponsor. Our emphasis is upon making the experience of baptism as meaningful as possible to both the candidates and the congregation and so we focus upon liturgy, music and testimony. Hence what people wear is of lesser importance. Most infants brought for baptism wear some sort of white gown, (and some of these like with my family are family heirlooms) or white clothing. I suppose that the colour white symbolises a "clean heart"; it certainly helps us to connect with the traditional practice of the church of candidates being dressed in white. Thus I baptised a 7 year old girl 2 years ago who wore a white dress, and her brother who wore a white shirt and grey trousers..... both baptised inside the church by pouring. A few years prior to that I baptised a woman in a swimming pool by immersion who wore a mostly white dress. In saying that however, if someone came to me dressed in black or red or any other colour, and wanted to be baptised, if their hearts were right, I wouldn't refuse them.

I use old choir robes. Still in good condition, purple. I wear a black robe.
I promised above that I would ask my pastor where he obtained the baptismal robes for our church. They are from Murphy Robes located online.
