The myth of church growth, the number zero, and the Kingdom

Apr 29, 2017 - 4:00 PM - by Gary Creely
Gary Creely's Avatar I have been more and more hearing from various pastors promoting an idea found in the book "Kingdom Matrix" called the myth of church growth. Basically Sunday morning attendance numbers are not an accurate assessment of Kingdom impact and are primarily only usefull for bragging rights between pastors. are we a culture of the "unbonded"?

What is the role of confession...

Apr 28, 2017 - 1:45 PM - by Bill Evans
Bill Evans's Avatar ...in providing good pastoral care? I am currently enrolled in a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. I made a visit yesterday where the patient opened up quickly about multiple past issues in his life. There were emotions of guilt, shame, and bereavement. Some of the life events he described were beyond his control while others were the direct result of his actions. He did express that he felt better for telling me. I am not sure if his "confession" was an emotional catharsis... [Read More]
