Hebrews 2:1-10 When seeing Christ...I begin to see the intentional and unconditional love that our Heavenly Father has for each of us. Though we are uniquely "fitted" together, Christ is uniquely placed into our lives. He fits because He has not only created us to exist on this earth, but also He has fitted and equipped us with His presence. We are reminded that the angels in the Old Testament are the physical representations of God, Himself. Angels were God's messengers, and they could only provide a message. However, God went further at a specific point in human history. He, Himself, came to earth. He brought the Message that we could be connected to Him again in a special relationship. This Message and special relationship is found in someone who can relate completely with us. He took up residence in this place among us, so that He could make His place in us. So when I see Jesus, I see God loving me in all my humanity. He was tempted, He suffered, and He died for me. When a person dies, he no longer has any rights. All rights are returned to the family. Also at the time that Christ was crucified, the "dead sacrifice" became the acceptable gift needed to return humanity to a right relationship with the Father. With Christ's death, He rendered His rights back to the Father and He became the acceptable gift to return us to our "right/desired" position with the Father. But we have a bonus...not only do we have the rights of the "son," the Father has raised His Son back to life... so He can intercede for all His brothers and sisters... What a Friend... What a Brother.... What a Savior... What a Christ... Who can identify with me. Mark D. Glover McPherson, KS USA
Prayer Lord, it is hard for us to fathom the depth of Your love. You have formed us out of the clay. You have breathed into us the breath of life. You have loved us when we were unlovely. Through it all, You have desired to have fellowship with us, the created. You have, through Your Son Jesus Christ, made a provision whereby we may have eternal life and share in that fellowship. Thank You, Father for Your great love toward us. Amen
