If you are reading this, you have made it into the new century! Welcome to the year 2000, what some call the New Millenium.

Time.... this time, this moment has been long awaited. The past few months
have given us almost daily reminders of how important this day is. Millenial clocks are everywhere... in the stores, on television, in businesses, at the post office, & on many, many websites!
But perhaps congratulations are not in order. For if we were no longer here on earth, then Jesus has come to take us to our Father. It can’t get better than that! As Paul says in Philipians, “to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Either way, we win!
Time is one thing that crosses all boundaries; the rich & poor alike have 24 hours in a day. The youngest to the oldest each receive 7 days in a week. Time is so short, yet there seems to be so much of it. We never have enough hours in the day, yet what do we really accomplish? Each passing day, week, month & year brings us closer to the day when we will meet our Heavenly Father face-to-face. Are you ready for that moment?
In these days, weeks & months of the year 2000, let’s speak plainly about our God & His Son. Let’s take advantage of all the hype beset on us through 1999. Let the year 2000 be memorable for you because of what you will do spiritually, for how you will build up His Kingdom. The only way this will happen is if you do it on purpose! And the Holy Spirit will be there with you every moment.
As we all head into the next millenium, we have no need to fear. Was Jesus with you yesterday? He is with you today as well. Did Jesus seem far away from you yesterday? The good news is You can be closer to Him today and in the days ahead.
Jesus IS in this new millenium!! Go... joyously proclaiming Him as your Friend!

Eternal Father,
How glad we are that You are in charge today. Through the fear and turmoil that we see all about us, You are the one Constant from whom we can seek help.
Help us to have boldness in this new year to proclaim Your goodness and love to all people that we meet. May we have a compassion for souls that will compel us to respond to needs that we see.
In Your Son's Name we pray.
