I Corinthians 13:13 When you or hear words like repulsive and repugnant, what images come in to your mind? If I were to put either of these words in front of the word people or person, what mental image would you have? Now think of the most excruciatingly painful disease that you can image. One that will end in agonizing death. It is now time to put the two thought together. The repulsive, repugnant person comes down with the excruciatingly painful disease. You are given two options. Option one, you may let this repulsive person die of this disease. Option two, you may take this disease upon yourself along with all the things that made the person repulsive and repugnant. Not until we are willing to choose the second option can we claim to have the love this verse speaks of. In all honesty, are you at the place where you would gladly take on this excruciatingly painful disease for a repulsive stranger? The only one who can bring us to that point is God our Heavenly Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Father God, I thank You for loving me when I was repulsive to You. I thank You for sending Your only Son to take on all the disease of sin and the all the repulsiveness and repugnance that it covers us with. I ask that You work in all of our lives until we too can love others with the depth of love that You have shown us. In Jesus Name,
